Married by Mortgage?

Monday, November 2nd, 2015

The New York Times Real Estate section ran a helpful article for couples considering what to do with the marital home.  Issues considered in this article are whether one party can afford a buyout AND can qualify for a mortgage on his/her own.  It is not recommended to remain “married by mortgage,” according to the experts cited, because it can create a financial tangle just when parties are trying to become financially independent.
